2016 was a record year for professional conference organiser Sweden Meetx, which recorded a turnover of SEK 107 million. Meetx is now further strengthening its position by embarking on a new partnership with Örebro Convention Bureau.

In order to broaden its field of activity, Meetx has for the past three years been analysing various interesting meeting destinations and has chosen Örebro as a destination worthy of investment. A new partnership will begin in the new year between Meetx and Örebro Convention Bureau.
“We see an increased need to develop Meetx, and we believe that the smartest way to do that is by collaborating with partners with extensive and sound experience of scientific congresses. Örebro is one of three destinations that we have chosen to focus more strongly on,” says Marie Jacobsson, Operational Director, Sweden Meetx.

“Our job is to recruit congresses for Örebro and make the whole process as smooth as possible for the organisers who choose to hold their congresses here. To do this successfully, it is important to have the right partners around you, which is why we have now further strengthened our collaboration with Meetx, which is coming on board as a partner in 2017. Quite simply, we regard Meetx as one of the best conference organisers on the market,” says Pernilla Körberg Törnqvist, Manager, Örebro Convention Bureau.

“Örebro’s size and favourable location in central Sweden make it very easy to meet here. Travel by road, rail and air is easy. The various venues are all centrally located and a comfortable walking distance from train stations, hotels, restaurants and shopping areas. Of course, the fact that Örebro also has the vibrant feel of a big city and is diverse contributed to our decision,” concludes Marie Jacobsson.
